Dog’s Name & Breed: Razoo, Mini Dachshund

How did your dog become a part of your life?

Razoo came into my life at nine months old. My brother was helping me look for a dachshund and stumbled upon him on Craigslist. He was rehomed twice before us. The third time was truly a charm because we instantly connected when I met him.

What makes your dog unique?

What makes my dog unique is the way he comforts us. It’s like he is very in tune with the energy around him. On hard days, he will bark to be picked up, stand up against you, and rest his head on your shoulder. That’s his way of letting you know you are not alone and that he is there to comfort you.

On really great days, he does zoomies and will gallop around with excitement, letting us know he wants to enjoy the good moments with us.

What’s your favorite way to spoil your dog?

We have this ritual that we’ve done since Razoo came into my life. Every morning before I start my day, we snuggle and cuddle. I usually lay on my side, and he lays on his like he’s spooning me with his snout on my shoulder. It’s the cutest thing.

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a dog owner for you?

The most rewarding thing about being Razoo’s mama is being able to shower him with love, adventure, and provide him a forever home.

Tell us about your favorite thing to do with your dog in San Antonio.

Razoo loves road trips. My favorite thing to do with him is run errands all over the city on a day off. He’s the best co-pilot.
