Dog’s Name & Breed: Earl, Dachshund

How did your dog become a part of your life?

We had an older dachshund Chili who was just such an amazing dog, we knew we wanted to have more dachshunds. We found Earl from a local breeder in Seguin.

What makes your dog unique?

He has such a laid back personality and is as sweet as they come. Even when he was a puppy it’s always been remarkable how chill he was. It’s easy to take him around with us everywhere because of this.

What’s your favorite way to spoil your dog?

Snacks! He loves his treats! And once in a while, we let him lay on the warm laundry.

What’s the most rewarding thing about being a dog owner for you?

Definitely the loyalty and companionship. There’s nothing like a happy tail welcoming you when you get home and snuggling up to a puppy after a long day. Plus they’re always excited to do things with you.

Tell us about your favorite thing to do with your dog in San Antonio.

We love hitting up the trails at O.P. Schnabel Park. Most days, we’ll hit up the unpaved trails—it’s so much fun just to hike around there with Earl.
