Can Dogs Eat Pineapple?

The short answer? Yes! According to the American Kennel Club, pineapple can be a great boost to immune system and digestive health. There’s still a lot of sugar in pineapple, though, which can give your dog a bellyache (or worse) if eaten in large amounts. And fresh over canned pineapple is recommended, too. Here are some other fruits and veggies that are safe for your pup to eat.

Frozen Piña Colada Recipe for Dogs

Here’s the list of ingredients you will need:
1 tbsp of local honey
1 tbsp melted coconut oil
1/3 cup fresh pineapple
½ cup low fat yogurt

Instructions:

1. Prep your Kongs by placing them into a cup that holds them snuggly, this will help keep them upright while they freeze in the freezer.

2. Dice up your pineapple small enough so it fits into the Kongs.

3. Mix the yogurt, pineapple, honey, and coconut oil together in a bowl.

4. Pour the mixture into the Kongs and place them in the freezer.

5. Remove when frozen and feed to your pup!

I love making Marilyn these frozen treats. It allows me to use the freshest ingredients possible because she deserves the best and so does your pup. Enjoy!
