San Antonio is home to a thriving local dog community, and local businesses and organizations are its backbone. As we’re under stay at home orders to flatten the curve and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in San Antonio, there are fortunately numerous ways we can continue to support the San Antonio dog community. Below, we’ve highlighted some of the ways you can support local dog stores, trainers and boarding services, rescue organizations, and dog-friendly bars and restaurants. Be safe and mindful, and let’s do our part to help San Antonio get to the other side of this!

Boutique Dog Stores

SouthPaw Waggery

Their storefront is currently closed, but they’ve opened up an online store and are offering FREE local delivery. Have something that you need ASAP? Send them an email, or DM on Instagram.

Lucky Dog Bakery & Boutique

They’re offering FREE local delivery on orders of $20 or more. Contact them via their Facebook page for info.

Feliz Modern

Although Feliz Modern & Feliz Modern Pop are not exclusively dog stores, they’re two of our favorite dog-friendly stores. And the owners, Ginger & Mario Diaz are two generous souls who are a big support of the dog community. In addition to their fun items to cheer up your home, you can get some of the cutest items for your pup at both locations. Currently both locations and their online store are closed, but you can continue to support them through the purchase of gift cards.

Willie & Roo

Our friends at Willie & Roo offer pet wellness subscription boxes, and are continuing to do so during this time. Find out more about their subscription offerings on their website.

Dog Trainers & Boarding

Pup Pup and Away

Although their boarding facility is currently closed, Pup Pup and Away is still offering dog walking services to essential workers at this time. Email or call 210-899-1688 for more info.

Lucy’s Doggy Daycare & Spa

Lucy’s boarding facilities are also currently closed. In an effort to continue supporting their staff, they’ve created an I Love Lucy’s Staff T-shirt, with 100% of funds going to an established COVID-19 Lucy’s Doggy Daycare Employee Relief Fund. Additionally, you can donate directly to a GoFundMe account they’ve set up to go to the same employee relief fund.

Dog Rescue Organizations

SNIPSA

SNIPSA is still accepting fosters for both dogs and cats. Learn more on their website. We also have our 2020 Fiesta medal, which helps to support SNIPSA, still available for order online.

San Antonio Pets Alive!

SAPA! is in need of donations, fosters, and adoptive dog parents. Find the latest info on needs and procedures on their Facebook page.

City of San Antonio Animal Care Services

San Antonio ACS is in need of fosters, adoptions, and newspaper for their kennels. Adoptions are by appointment only at this time. Visit their Facebook page for the latest updates and info.

Dog-Friendly Restaurants

One of our all-time favorite things to do with our pup, is taking them to brunch, lunch, and dinner at our favorite dog-friendly restaurants in San Antonio. Here’s how we can continue to support them.

The Good Kind Southtown

Arguably one of the best dog-friendly locales in town (also where we celebrated or First Birthday Pawty), The Good Kind Southtown is offering family-style meal delivery in addition to bottled alcohol and wine. Minimum order and delivery fees apply for those outside of 410. Visit their online store for more info.

Cherrity Bar

Cherrity Bar, home to our Fall Fur Fest and Rover Rodeo, is offering curbside and delivery options. Call 210-598-0496 to place your orders. We can’t wait to enjoy their dog-friendly patio again!

Another Pearl favorite, Cured is currently offering curbside take out orders. Check out their menu and call 210-314-3929 to order.

La Gloria at Pearl

Dog-Friendly Bars, Breweries, Distilleries

Dorćol Distilling & Brewing Co.

The fine folks at Dorćol are some of the biggest San Antonio dog community supporters (who else made it out to Mardi Paws?), and they happen to make incredible spirits, and beer, too. Need to stock up? Text 210-900-4440 to order and pickup. They’re also hosting a virtual Happy Hour this evening to share how to make some of their favorite cocktails.

The Friendly Spot

Undoubtedly a San Antonio staple, The Friendly Spot is one of the OG outdoor patios and a great place to hang with your dog crew. Although currently closed, they have a GoFundMe page to help raise funds to support their staff during this time. We can’t wait to get back to this Southtown treasure.

A perfect place to sip on a glass of wine at the Pearl, High Street Wine Co. is now taking online orders.
