Woof Gang Bakery Alon Market
This franchise owned San Antonio dog bakery and grooming salon is a neighborhood favorite. Cupcake, my BFF, often enjoys making the short walk to Woof Gang Bakery at Alon Market. While there, she chooses her own in-house baked treat from the assortment of seasonally flavored dog biscuits and puppy pastries. Also, customers can place an order for personalized cakes and treats to celebrate their dog’s special occasions. In order to allow preparation time, custom orders require 48 hours and they must be paid for in advance. You can place your order during business hours either over the phone or at the store. In addition to the fresh baked offerings, you can shop here for packaged quality pet food brands that are free from artificial colors, flavors and preservatives.
PAWsitively Sweet Bakery
Founded by Alexis Quiroga, this locally owned and operated dog bakery and boutique is located at 3363 E. Commerce St. near the AT&T Center. PAWsitively Sweet is also a vendor at the Pearl Farmers Market and Alamo Heights Farmers Market. Besides these locations, the company website provides additional purchasing options. These include a monthly subscription program that delivers goodies right to your home. So that the quality is superior, the products are baked in small batches using fresh, human-grade locally sourced ingredients. Accordingly, everything is made without preservatives, cornmeal, fillers or sugar. The Chews and Jerky are also smoked in house. Recently I stopped by the Commerce store on a Saturday morning to find the cooler filled with special order cakes and cupcakes ready to be picked up. This shows how much we love to pamper our pets!
Fifi and Fidos
Diana Farrar owns Fifi & Fidos, a pet boutique specializing in holistic pet nutrition for dogs and cats. It is located in Alamo Heights at 5120 Broadway. The vision of the boutique is to keep your pets healthy and happy by using food as medicine. Consequently, the boutique has a commitment to carrying only the best food and treats, and offers organic products, including those made in the U.S. whenever possible. Additionally, they work with pet owners to find solutions for dogs and cats with allergies, skin conditions, digestive problems and other nutritional health concerns. Fifi & Fidos’ goodies include training treats in various sizes as well as an assortment of dental chews, jerky, and cookie type treats. They always have birthday cakes, bones, cupcakes and gourmet cookies in stock and ready to purchase for your dog’s special day.
