Located on the NE side of town (between Toepperwein and Pat Booker)\, this park has multiple walking trails. \nThis will be approximately 2.5 mile walk around the park and adjacent campus at a leisurely pace. \nMake sure no retractable leashes nor leashes longer than 6 feet. Please Bring plenty of water and poo bags also. \nIt’s located in the middle of a neighborhood. Watch your speed! The 20mph speed limit is strictly enforced. The following directions lead to Park Drive access NOT Park Lake access. \nDIRECTIONS: \nFrom 35 N\, exit on Toepperwein Rd and turn RIGHT\n(or LEFT if you’re coming from 1604) \nIt will intersect with Judson Rd\, turn LEFT \nTurn LEFT at the next light which is Leafy Hollow \nLeafy Hollow turns right and becomes Park Dr \nFollow the road until it dead ends. \nNOT TO BE CONFUSED WITH PARK LAKE ACCESS!

DESCRIPTION:Come out and celebrate spring with family fun in the park at the 15th Annual Fest Of Tails! Fest Of Tails is a free kite festival and dog fair set for Saturday\, March 12th from 10 AM – 4 PM at McAllister Park. \nIn honor of our 15th year\, we’re introducing “Tour de Tails\,” a bicycle ride along the Salado Creek Greenway that ends at Fest Of Tails – begin at Lady Bird Johnson Trailhead (3 miles) or Hardberger Trailhead (10 miles) and cruise your way to McAllister Park with groups led by SATX Social Ride volunteers! ActivateSA and SA Babes On Bikes will be distributing trail maps and highlighting safety practices and trail etiquette. \nAT THE FEST:\n– Kite demonstrations and family kite flying \n– Pooch Parade and Costume Contest presented by H-E-B! Costume Contest categories include Best Dressed Dog\, Most Resembles Owner\, and Best In Show. \nParade begins at 12:30 PM – register here: https://bit.ly/3oNxlRb \n– All-ages bicycle safety course hosted by Ghisallo Cycling Initiative \n– Stationary roller races with San Antonio Gold Sprints hosted near the Pump Track at McAllister Park \n– Pet adoptions with Animal Defense League \n– City of San Antonio Parks & Recreation Mobile Fit Unit \n– Sweet treats\, festival fare\, live music\, and more! \nThis event welcomes kite\, dog\, and cycling enthusiasts from near and far!
