DESCRIPTION:Register at https://runsignup.com/Race/TX/SanAntonio/SNIPSA?remMeAttempt=\nEvent Update:\nOur 13th Annual Race for the Rescues looks a lot different this year. We are following local government officials’ COVID-19 guidelines and converting to a virtual race.\nWhat is a Virtual Race?\nIn general\, a virtual race\, unlike a traditional race\, can be run at any time and can be run anywhere. Participants can walk\, use a treadmill\, run outside\, push baby strollers\, walk/run with your dog – think of the possibilities! Participants can run or walk this particular race at any speed they like. Virtual races can be completed on a specific day or if that’s not convenient\, most organizers designate a block of time so the race can be completed whenever and however is most convenient for the participant! To be considered for prizes\, the “official” race day will be September 26 (between 7am and 12 noon). If you are running because you believe in the cause that SNIPSA represents\, you will be able to upload your 5K times through October 4th.\nRace participants will have two options this year for running the race. Learn more about our virtual race and read our FAQ’s at https://snipsa.org/race-for-the-rescues-faq/\n\nIn 2008\, SNIPSA introduced an innovative\, competitive 5K race where participants could participate and earn recognition with (or without) their dogs. The Annual Race for the Rescues was born and quickly became the top fundraising effort that we organize each year. Proceeds from the race provide funding for homeless and abandoned animals and spay/neuter outreach\, all right here in our community.

SUMMARY:Barkitecture San Antonio 2020
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our 5th annual Barkitecture San Antonio on Saturday\, September 26\, 2020! This year’s beneficiary will be the Battered Women’s Center\, San Antonio. This is a city-wide student competition\, with invitations sent out to ALL school districts to build the “Best Dog House” in town. Entries are submitted by architect & engineering groups the morning of our day-long festival for judging. After awarding the winners\, each entry is then put up for sale to the public in a silent auction. Proceeds from the silent auction will be donated to our beneficiary.\nArt/crafts\, exhibitors\, and pet services take place throughout the day. There will be pet services\, obedience training exhibits\, and a Doggy Contest too. We’ll have face painting & train rides for the children and multiple photo booths for keepsakes. Yummy food trucks will join us to provide all the fan favorites. Tons of fun for the whole family… especially for your furry pups.\nLockwood Park is a beautiful park in the historic Dignowity Hills neighborhood\, just east of downtown with an amazing skyline of the city. Come join us and spread the word so that we can make a HUGE donation to the Battered Women’s Shelter’s capital campaign for a new pet facility.
