SUMMARY:Cléo de 5 à 7 and La Jetée\, Outdoor Cinema at The Good Kind
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a physically distanced outdoor movie night in Southtown. To ensure safe social distancing\, seating is limited and tickets are required. The film starts at dusk. This event is pet-friendly.\nFrench New Wave Fest\, Left Bank with Agnes Varda and Chris Marker\nCléo de 5 à 7\nAgnes Varda is one of the most important figures in French cinema and Cleo from 5 to 7 is her most iconic work. The film follows two hours in the life of a beautiful and successful singer named Cleo. But despite having the world at her fingertips\, Cleo is more miserable than ever and fears that she’ll receive bad news from a cancer test. Cleo from 5 to 7 utilizes a lot of the defining techniques from the French New Wave\, such as jump cuts\, a montage format and long takes.\n(1h 30m\, 1962)\nPlaying with:\nLa Jetée\nChris Marker\, a filmmaker\, poet\, novelist\, photographer\, editor\, and now videographer and digital multimedia artist\, has been challenging moviegoers\, philosophers\, and himself for years with his complex queries about time\, memory\, and the rapid advancement of life on this planet. Marker’s La Jetée is one of the most influential\, radical science-fiction films ever made\, a tale of time travel told in still images. Shortly before the artist Katie Pell died\, she told us this was one of her favorite movies. This screening is dedicated to her.\n(27 minutes\, 1962)\nPlease support The Good Kind Southtown. You can order for pick-up in advance or arrive early to ensure your meal is ready. No outside food or beverages.
