SUMMARY:13th Annual Fest of Tails - Kite Festival and Dog Fair
DESCRIPTION:Fest of Tails\, now in its 13th year\, is a free family-friendly kite festival and dog fair! This year’s event is set for Saturday\, March 16\, 2019\, from 9 am – 4 pm at McAllister Park. \nCome out and celebrate the arrival of spring with family fun in the park! This event welcomes kite and dog enthusiasts from near and far! \nDogs of all sizes and breeds\, along with a sky full of kites\, fill the park with a beautiful scene on this day of free community fun! All guests are encouraged to bring a blanket and lawn chair to watch the spectacular sky views and to enjoy meeting new furry friends. \nFest of Tails has events and activities for the entire family. McAllister Park will be filled with live entertainment\, various food options\, kids rides and games\, kite making workshops\, and much more. For all dog enthusiasts\, pet products and pet adoptions will be available\, and information on pet registration\, vaccinations\, and more will also be available through various participating animal welfare organizations. \nIn continuation with tradition\, we also welcome the return of the GIANT KITE exhibition from Go Big Or Go Home\, and the always popular\, Pooch Parade and Costume Contest\, which will consist of Best Dressed\, Best Dog/Owner\, and Best in Show. It’s a dog-friendly weekend at the Garden with swimming pools and water bowls throughout the Garden. Have brunch on the patio with your pup at Rosella at the Garden before heading out for a stroll. Tag your photos #RoversClovers and we’ll share them! Proceeds from the weekend benefit local animal charities. \nFee: Admission ($12-$9) per person + $5 per leashed dog. Members pay $5 per leashed dog. \nSaturday activities | 10am-2pm\nNo activities on Sunday\, but dogs welcome! \nDogs are welcome in the majority of the Garden with the exception of the Culinary Garden and Kitchen\, the Family Adventure Garden\, the Children’s Vegetable Garden.

DESCRIPTION:Join us at our Babcock location on every 3rd Saturday of the month from 12pm-2pm for an adoption event featuring TGPR-Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue. \nTGPR’s Mission: Texas Great Pyrenees Rescue is dedicated to the protection and rescue of Great Pyrenees in Texas and surrounding areas. We are not a shelter but a network of foster homes. In 2017\, we saved over 200 dogs from euthanasia. This year\, we’re hoping to save even more.
