Hi there! I’m Amy, and this is my pup, Terry, a chihuahua min-pin mix. My kids and I adopted her in December 2017 from SNIPSA, and she quickly became one of the family.
I grew up with a black Labrador named Scooter who was a beloved part of our family for nearly two decades. As an adult, I’ve owned chickens and cats (with a few toads and snakes my kids occasionally sneak in), but Terry is my first dog.
In doing my own research on dog-friendly locations and events in San Antonio, I realized that while there are numerous organizations and groups providing information and services for dogs, there didn’t seem to be a hub for all things dog here in the Alamo City. So, Dog Friendly San Antonio was born.
As a resident of San Antonio for over 20 years, I feel like I’m discovering my beloved home town all over again through a dogs-eye view. My hopes for Dog Friendly San Antonio is to provide a space for dog lovers to learn more about everything from adoption and fostering, to veterinary care, to local dog-friendly businesses and events.
