Come out and celebrate the arrival of spring with family fun in the park at the 14th Annual Fest of Tails!
Fest of Tails is a free family-friendly kite festival and dog fair set for Saturday, March 14th, 2020 from 9 am – 4 pm at McAllister Park.
This event welcomes kite and dog enthusiasts from near and far! A sky full of kites, along with dogs of all sizes and breeds, fill this day of free community fun! All guests are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair to watch the spectacular sky views and meet new furry friends.
Fest of Tails has events and activities for the entire family.
McAllister Park is a beautiful scene filled with live entertainment, various food options, carnival rides and games, a variety of vendors, and an exclusive kite vendor! Mobile Fit and the Literacy Caravan will also be on-site! For all dog enthusiasts, pet products, treats, and clothing will be available for purchase. Information on pet registration, vaccinations, rescues, and more, will also be available through various participating animal welfare organizations and businesses. Also, being held on-site: pet adoptions with cute puppies looking for their forever home, dog agility demonstrations, and the Ghisallo Cycling Initiative bike activation.
To kick off the event, the City of San Antonio’s Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting their annual Tree Adoption, where attendees can receive a FREE tree to take home and plant!
This year’s Fest of Tails also welcomes back Go Big or Go Home’s GIANT KITE exhibition, as well as the fan-favorite, Pooch Parade, and Costume Contest! (Additional contest information can be found on our website below)
New this year to Fest of Tails weekend is a Star Party hosted by SALSA (San Antonio League of Sidewalk Astronomers) on Friday, March 13th at dusk. (Weather Permitting)
As always, Fest of Tails is 100% FREE to the public! We encourage families to bring the kids & the pups and come enjoy a day of family fun in the park!
