We’ve officially entered spooky season! What would breathtaking autumn leaves and chilly sweater-worthy breezes be without a warm pumpkiny treat to go with them? This Fall, skip the tricks and go straight for the treats with these homemade dog treat recipes.
Puppy PSL
- Ingredients:
- ¾ cup (unsweetened) coconut milk or almond milk
- ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup canned pumpkin
- Instructions
- Blend all ingredients until smooth.
- Pour into small serving cups or freeze in ice cube trays.
- Top with a small dollop of whipped cream and serve! (optional)
Notes:
*Splash in some extra milk to adjust consistency or if the mixture is not blending well. Serves 4-12.

Candy Corn Dog Treats
- Ingredients:
- 1-2 small bananas
- 1 cup plain nonfat Greek yogurt (divided)
- ½ cup canned pumpkin
- Ice cube tray (silicone)
- Instructions:
- Fill ice cube tray 1/3 of the way with the yogurt, then place molds in the freezer. Freeze for 1-2 hours, or until the yogurt has set.
- In a small bowl, mix 1/2 cup yogurt with canned pumpkin. Mix until combined, then pour over frozen yogurt in ice cube molds, making sure to leave space at the top for the third layer.
- Return to freezer for another 1-2 hours, or until set.
- Mash banana(s) in a small bowl and mix in any remaining yogurt, then pour over frozen pumpkin layer in mold.
- Freeze until banana mixture has set.
- Pop treats out of tray(s) and serve!

Pumpkin Cookies
- Ingredients:
- 2 eggs
- ½ cup of canned pumpkin
- ½ tsp salt
- 2 tbsp. dry milk
- 2 ½ cups of flour (wheat)
- water
- Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Blend the eggs and pumpkin together; add salt, dry milk, and flour.
- Add water as needed and work through with hands. It should be dry and stiff.
- Roll out dough to ½ inch thick.
- Cut into the shape of your choosing.
- Place shapes 1” apart on an ungreased cookie sheet
- Bake for 20 minutes on one side, flip, and another 20 minutes on the other side.
