Join us in celebrating The Dog Guide San Antonio's 5th Anniversary with a pet food drive and fundraiser for Daisy Cares and the San Antonio Food Bank.

Help us help san antonio dogs in need

The San Antonio Food Bank was feeding 60,000 families weekly before the pandemic touched San Antonio. They are now serving 120,000 families a week. They're currently serving 40,000 lbs of pet food to families with pets every month.

“We often receive donations for food for families, and while that is a vital part of our mission we also have to remember pet food is another need in our community that must be met each month. Daisy Cares is our operation to do just that, and we’re grateful community members like The Dog Guide San Antonio are willing to help.”

ERIC COOPER, PRESIDENT & CEO OF THE SAN ANTONIO FOOD BANK

new to the dog guide? Welcome!

Meet our founder,
Amy Lynn johnson

When I adopted my Chihuahua Min Pin mix Terry in 2017, I began rediscovering my hometown of over 20 years from a dog’s-eye view. After realizing there was no easy route to finding pet-friendly resources in town, I launched our original site in April 2018.

The mission of The Dog Guide San Antonio is to provide a space for local dog lovers to learn more about everything from adoption and fostering, to veterinary care, to local dog-friendly businesses and events

I was distraught to learn that families in San Antonio are often choosing between feeding their pets or feeding their families. This year for our anniversary, we’re hoping to bring the community together in making lives a little easier for pet owners in need.
