***FIESTA IS BACK!!!*** That means so is the Fiesta Pooch Parade.
Come and walk along with us as we participate in the annual Fiesta Pooch Parade. Winding through the streets of beautiful Alamo Heights, this is a 2.6-mile fun-filled event. (And don’t worry if the distance is too long. There is a place not far into the route that people can cross over and head back the other way.)
Sponsored by Therapy Animals of San Antonio, this is their major fund-raiser. They do a lot of work bringing pets into the life of someone who is ailing. Their visits include hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living centers, rehabilitation centers, and children’s shelters.
You’ll see some of the cutest decorated Fiesta floats than in any of the other Fiesta parades. One of our very own members had the best float that I’ve seen in all of the Pooch Parades that I’ve been to. From decorated floats to dogs in costumes – everywhere is color.
Speaking of costumes, there is a pet costume contest prior to the parade. The costume contest is usually at 8:15 followed by the parade. Check back as we get closer to the actual event for up-to-date schedule information.
Please visit their website for registration information at [https://therapyanimalssa.org/pooch-parade/](https://therapyanimalssa.org/pooch-parade/). Be sure to register early to qualify for a free t-shirt! Tickets bought prior to March 25th are $25 for one person or $30 for a family up to six members. On March 26th tickets are $30 for one person or $35 for a family up to six members.
You can find us at the left tree in front of the registration area.
Come on down and join in the fun!
